Interestingly, compared to the 2019 edition, there were 55% more celebrity endorsement advertisements in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Cricket has developed into a stage for superstars to flourish in the world of endorsements in addition to exhibiting their athletic prowess. With an astounding 58% of celebrity endorsements, sports stars surpassed actors with only 30%.
This is a change from the World Cup of 2019, when actors received 60% of the celebrity endorsements. According to a TAM research, athletes are now the main driver of the increase in sponsorships, making up 26% more than they did at the last World Cup.
Advertising giants began to favor Rahul Dravid during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
With both the overall and sports celebrity rankings at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Rahul Dravid was the most prominent person on the list. MS Dhoni and Shah Rukh Khan both contributed 7% of their star power to the competition, with Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant following closely behind with 6% apiece.
Among celebrity advertisers, Vishnu Packaging was the most successful, followed closely by K P Pan Foods (11%), Sports Technologies (11%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (9%), and Coca-Cola (7%) India. With a significant 16% share, Vimal Elaichi Pan Masala emerged as the brand most promoted by celebrities at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Ajay Devgan and Kajol became the most popular pair, with a significant 25% of the volume of ads. With an impressive 24% of the vote, Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar came in second. With a 12% share, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, the always popular duo, managed to maintain their standing.
The stars that contributed their charm to the event shine brilliantly in the endorsement arena as the cricketing world celebrates its victors, making the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 a huge success both on and off the field.
