"I played both matches with this bat" - Nitish Rana, captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, discloses Rinku Singh used his bat against the Gujarat Titans.

The 13th match of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) featured the defending champion Gujarat Titans versus the Nitish Rana-led Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, and it was a true classic.

After Gujarat had scored 204 runs in the first innings, Kolkata came out to bowl, and both openers were dismissed quite early in the run chase.

After the collapse of the openers, Venkash Iyer and Nitish Rana took control of the situation for their team. However, it was Rinku Singh’s miraculous blow that propelled Kolkata to a magnificent victory. The 25-year-48* old’s runs contributed to his team’s victory. In the game’s final over, he struck five consecutive sixes in spectacular fashion.

Following the victory, captain Nitish Rana revealed that the bat used by Rinku Singh to pursue down the target was actually his. “This [bat used by Rinku] is mine, and I’ve used it in both matches this season. I used this bat for the entirety of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the final four to five matches of the previous year “Rana stated in a KKR-posted video.
I initially resisted giving him my bat: Rana
Continuing on the same topic, Nitish Rana disclosed that he was initially hesitant to give Rinku his bat, but after the phenomenal run chase, he gladly gave it to the 25-year-old batsman from Uttar Pradesh.

“Today, [Sunday], I switched out my bat. Rinku asked me for my bat. Initially, I didn’t want to give him my bat, but when someone brought this bat [from the dressing room], I had a sense he would choose it because it has a great pickup and is light for my weight. So this bat now belongs to Rinku and not to me “Rana said.
