Shakib Al Hasan stated that he will only make a decision regarding his involvement in Bangladesh’s forthcoming tour of India once his obligations in Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 and Global T20 League Canada 2024 had been fulfilled. Bangladesh will play three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and two Tests against India from September 19 to October 12. This comes after their August tour of Pakistan, where they will play a two-match Test series.
On Monday, July 1, the renowned all-round player left Dhaka for the USA to compete in the MLC 2 tournament. The Los Angeles Knight Riders, who placed last in the first season of the year, will be the team he plays for. Shakib stated that he is merely planning for the trip of Pakistan the following month and isn’t planning too far ahead.
“I have very few plans. I have two T20 competitions ahead of me: the MLC and the Global T20 League in Canada. I’ll see where I stand after participating in these two events as I need to comprehend [my emotions],” Shakib was cited by Cricbuzz.
“I am making plans up to that point and not beyond that. There is a series against Pakistan and international cricket. The seasoned cricket player continued, “I don’t have time to plan for three or four years right now, so it’s better to plan for three to six months and then think about my next plan later. Right now, I’m planning till the Pakistan series.”
Taskin Ahmed expressed regret for not making the team bus: Shakib Al Hasan
Surprisingly, Taskin Ahmed was left out of the starting lineup for Bangladesh’s pivotal Super Eights match against eventual champions India in Antigua during the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024. According to a recent revelation from a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official, the pacer missed the team bus because he got up late in the morning. In a similar vein, Shakib added that the 29-year-old had expressed regret for his carelessness.
“Cricketers have a rule that the team bus does not stop for anyone, and if someone misses it, they must board the next vehicle. The team bus starts at a specific time. There is a cab or the manager’s automobile, and in the West Indies, transportation support was scarce. Five to ten minutes before the toss, Taskin arrived, and Shakib remarked, “It was hard to pick him at that moment in the team and it was hard for him as well.

The cricket player added, “After the fact, Taskin apologised to the team and everyone on the team accepted it normally because a man can make mistakes and anyone can make unintentional mistakes. He accepted it and the matter ended at that point in time.”
