I always want you to play with five full bowlers. Instead of Shardul Thakur, play Umran Malik: Aakash Chopra.

Aakash Chopra, a former opener for India, wants India to put fast bowler Umran Malik in the playing XI for the second ODI against Australia on March 19 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. In the first ODI, Team India had three seam bowlers on their team. Shardul Thakur was one of them, but he only bowled two overs.

India won the first ODI by five wickets because they kept Australia from scoring more than 188 runs in the first innings. Before the second ODI, Chopra suggested that India replace Shardul with Umran Malik. He said that the team should play with five good bowlers and not worry about what the number 8 batter will do.

“Is there any way to change things besides Rohit Sharma replacing Ishan Kishan? “In my opinion, which you can call right or wrong, you should always play five full bowlers and not worry about the batsman at No. 8,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
The former cricketer also said that India chose Shardul over Umran to improve their batting instead.

“Replace Shardul Thakur with Umran Malik. “That’s how I feel, but I know the Indian team wants a batsman at No. 8, and I can see why. Sometimes the top players get out, and you might need someone to bat later,” the 45-year-old said.

In the first game, India’s wide range of batsmen came in handy when they were down to 83/5 and KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja put together an unbeaten 108-run stand that won the game.

Lord is always a factor: Aakash Chopra Chopra also said that there are two ways to look at the situation: both an all-rounder and a specialist bowler have their own benefits.

“These days, people are scoring even 350-375 runs. In these situations, you need more batting because all the bowlers are getting hit. One way to look at it is this way. “The other way is that a good bowler can get away with 55–60 runs in 10 overs when others are getting hit for 80,” Chopra said.

He also said that Shardul was good at getting wickets at important times.

“So it’s up to you to choose which way to go. The Indian team thinks that Shardul should stay at number 8. I’m fine because the Lord always helps. In the last game, the captain didn’t have him bowl much, so he couldn’t do much. But if you make him bowl, he will also take wickets,” he added.
