The focus of attention is on Indian superstar hitters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli ahead of the first match of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. When it comes to their skill with the sword, the two are unmatched. However, many people might be surprised to learn that Bangladesh has, in red-ball cricket, managed to tame its wild side.
Speaking of Virat Kohli, he made his Test debut for India in 2011 and has shown surprising results when playing against his Asian opponents
The 35-year-old has 378 runs to his name after batting in four innings in India. While touring Bangladesh, he has batted in five innings and scored just 59 runs.
Regarding the Indian captain, Rohit, he has only participated in one match in Bangladesh; the other two were in Kolkata and Indore. As strange as it gets, he has only scored 56 points total over all innings. However, considering that he is leading the World Test Championship 2023–25 cycle’s run-chart, the worries about the numbers may only be the beginning of something bigger. On September 19, he will also become the seventh player from India to captain the side in a Test match against Bangladesh.

Eden Gardens is known as “Rohit’s den” because of his spectacular 264-run innings against Sri Lanka. But in the 2019 Pink Ball Test match against Bangladesh, Kohli produced yet another brilliant century at the stadium. With about two and a half days remaining in the Test, India won the match by a margin of 46 runs thanks to the 136 runs scored by the right-handed hitter.
