David Warner, captain of the Delhi Capitals, expressed his astonishment at the appointment of Ashish Nehra as head coach of the Gujarat Titans. Notably, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the IPL in 2016 under Warner’s stewardship, and Nehra was an integral member of the squad.
The Australia international also disclosed that the former cricketer is very funny off the field, so he cannot comprehend how he (Nehra) can coach a franchise.
Notably, Ashish Nehra helped Gujarat Titans capture their inaugural IPL championship in 2022. Warner compared Nehra’s leadership qualities to those of a football coach who is constantly directing his players from the sidelines. He also stated that this is how T20 cricket coaching should be conducted.
“They (Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra) are formidable gentlemen. I truly adore being in their presence. I am currently pondering, “I know Ashish Nehra, so how is he coaching?” He resembles a soccer instructor ascending and descending the object.
Ashish Nehra simply makes quips constantly.
“This is innovation, and it should be the standard for T20 coaching. I wish he would toss his hat. I want him to grab that head mic and ask, “Why is he taking that shot?” In the most recent episode of Breakfast With Champions, Warner stated.
With regard to the IPL 2023, David Warner’s Delhi Capitals were unable to qualify for the semifinals. Warner has been inconsistent throughout the season, contributing to the team’s dismal performance. Rishabh Pant has been sorely missed in the middle, as the preponderance of middle order batters have struggled and bowlers have occasionally appeared pale.
There are few positives for the Capitals this season, so they will be anxious to rebound with greater vigor next year. David Warner will shortly travel to England to join the Australian cricket team in preparation for the upcoming WTC final and Ashes series.
