In Match 45, the visiting team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), won the toss and decided to field first against the home team, Gujarat Titans (GT). Sai Sudharsan and Shahrukh Khan, however, prevented GT from collapsing even more. They were able to guide their side to 200 runs despite a collapse in the top order. They were the better bowlers against RCB. Sudharsan provided strong assistance for Shahrukh, who struck his first IPL fifty.
For the RCB, the entrance of Will Jacks changed everything. He and superstar batsman Virat Kohli forged an incredible 166-run partnership in Bengaluru’s commanding 9-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans. With just 41 balls, Jacks scored an undefeated 100, demonstrating his remarkable innings. He saw to it that the guests triumphed handily. With ease in just 16 overs, Jacks ended the match in spectacular fashion, hitting leggie Rashid Khan for 28 runs on his own with four sixes and a four.
With one leg out of the league, the Gujarat Titans
The loss of their skipper early in the season dealt the Gujarat Titans a severe blow. Though a few disappointing performances have left them battling in the lower mid-table, the team has nevertheless shown glimpses of its strength as a unit. Their latest defeat by RCB on Saturday has made things even worse for them. The Titans have little control over their prospects of qualifying when they have a negative nett rating ratio. To advance to the IPL 2024 knockout stages, they will require the kindness of other teams.

“I thought Kohli and Jacks’ hitting was excellent. For the following game, we have to devise stronger plans and carry them through. It’s always possible to aim for 15 to 20 extra runs when batting. Sadly, things didn’t work out the way we had hoped. We felt that 200 was a sufficient amount. “I believe that was the turning point for us, as we were unable to pick up wickets in the middle overs,” Gill stated during the post-match presentation.
