Even though he had injured his thumb earlier in the second one-day international match against Bangladesh, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma showed tremendous bravery by coming out to bat at the No. 9 spot.
Rohit Sharma pushed through the pain despite being aware that his team required his services at that precise moment.
Even though Rohit’s brave effort gained him a lot of appreciation from fans, peers, and cricket analysts, India still ended up losing by five runs despite Rohit’s undefeated 51 off of 28.
Even his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, uploaded a lovely story to Instagram as she watched Rohit come out to bat.
Taking to Instagram, Ritika wrote: “I adore you, and I can’t tell you how proud I am of the man you’ve become. to act in such a way and to go out like that.”
During the presentation ceremony that took place after the match, Rohit stated that he has dislocation of his thumb but also confirmed that he does not have a fracture.
Even though the Hitman himself was unable to shed light on how long he will be sidelined, head coach Rahul Dravid stated that he will not be participating in the third one-day international.
“The damage (to the thumb) isn’t very severe. There was a dislocation and several stitches were required. Fortunately, there was no break in the bone, therefore I was allowed to continue playing “Rohit said.
During the news conference that took place later on Wednesday, Dravid mentioned that Rohit will be flying to Mumbai to get an examination of his thumb injury. His eligibility to take part in the Test series won’t be determined until after a comprehensive check has been performed.
“In addition to this, we have a couple players out with injuries. Not the best. Kuldeep, Deepak, and Rohit won’t be able to participate in the upcoming game.
The next game will be missed by Rohit as he must fly back to Bombay to speak with a specialist. I cannot say for certain whether or not he will take part in the remaining tests of the series. It’s too soon to tell at this point, “he replied.
India suffered their second consecutive defeat in a One-Day International (ODI) series while playing in Bangladesh. The focus for the tourists will be on making a strong comeback in the upcoming Test series, but they will try to save some of their team’s pride by winning the third and final one-day international on Saturday.
