On Saturday, the captain of India’s cricket team, Hardik Pandya, commented that the surging Suryakumar Yadav has been boasting to his colleagues that “batting is so simple” after each innings.
The 32-year-old Surya played yet another spectacular knock, which was an unbeaten 112 off of 51 balls, as India demolished Sri Lanka by 91 runs in the series-deciding third T20 International here, resulting in a 2-1 series triumph for India.
“In my opinion, he has been blowing everyone’s minds with each and every innings that he has been batting. He just finished explaining to us how simple batting really is.
If I were the one bowling to him, witnessing him bat would make me feel disheartened because of the shots that he plays. He has played blinders after blinders, “Pandya said on the matter during the award ceremony.
After Rahul Tripathi had blasted away to a score of 35 off only 16 balls, Surya came in to bowl, and Pandya was quite complimentary of Tripathi’s performance.
“A special mention should go out to Rahul Tripathi because despite the fact that the ball was moving in some direction, he displayed a lot of intent. After that, SKY did what he needed to do.”
When Hardik was asked if he had ever offered Surya any words of wisdom, he responded, “You don’t need to explain anything to him since he already understands the situation. When there is a circumstance in which he is unclear of what to do, we have our conversations about it; but, the most of the time, he is aware of what to do.”
India scored an impressive 228 runs for five wickets as a direct result of Surya’s blistering knock. After that, the home team bowled Sri Lanka out for 137 runs.
On Saturday, left-arm spinner and all-rounder Axar Patel did not record any wickets, but he did contribute with the bat by hitting 21 runs off of just nine balls.
“Because of how well he is hitting and batting down the order, I can’t help but be incredibly proud of Axar. This will instil a great deal of confidence not only in him but also in the team as a whole “Hardik remarked.
The skipper continued, “As a captain, I’ve made it a point to live by the credo that I’ll always support my team. Because they are the top T20 cricket players in India, these individuals are currently participating in this tournament.
Due to the nature of this competition, there is no room for hesitation, and we are giving our full support to the players.
We didn’t even play at 50 percent of our game in the second game, but we still fought hard and won the fight. It’s encouraging to see how well we played throughout the series.”
