Prominent all-rounder Hardik Pandya of India is reportedly working with the red ball in preparation for a possible comeback to Test cricket. Although the Indian team management would rather not take the chance of him getting hurt again, he is also anticipated to participate in a few Ranji Trophy matches. However, this would depend on his health and how much work he can manage. Pandya’s recovery will be closely watched, and if he is considered well enough, he may play in the Test match against Australia.
In Shardul Thakur‘s absence, the Rohit Sharma-led team supported him, but the all-rounder hasn’t accomplished much with the ball. The 32-year-old proved costly with the ball, but he has made some significant innings for India with the bat, particularly when playing away from home. Having played 11 Test matches prior, Hardik, an all-rounder with more composure, has amassed 532 runs and claimed 17 wickets.
Veteran batsman Hanuma Vihari thinks it’s encouraging for Indian cricket if Hardik wants to return to Test matches. He pointed out that the Perth pitch favours pacers greatly and that seamers will be the main attraction in the Day-Night Test match versus Australia. Therefore, Team India will have a better chance if they have someone of Hardik’s calibre.
“Hardik may not be all that interested in returning to the Test format. However, I believe it’s fantastic news for Indian cricket if he wants to, since an all-rounder like him can really help the Indian side, particularly in Perth or in the pink-ball Test. Hanuma Vihari stated to India Today, “You need that extra fast-bowling option, where you can take that advantage.”

Additionally, Hanuma Vihari made note of the fact that Pandya will need to demonstrate his toughness and match fitness by participating in a few games in the highly anticipated Ranji Trophy domestic competition. The all-rounder will essentially be able to evaluate his workload when bowling as a result of this. Finally, he said that playing Test cricket required a completely different degree of endurance than other formats.
“I believe Hardik Pandya has complete control over whether or not he wishes to return to the Test team. He needs to play a few Ranji Trophy games to regain his bowling load if he wishes to do it.

He finished by saying, “Because playing Test cricket differs greatly from playing ODIs or T20Is in terms of the bowling load and endurance required for a Test match game.
