Harbhajan Singh recalls his favorite cricket memories with Chennai Super Kings as being the "best years that I played cricket, no stress, no drama."

Under the direction of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian squad won awards. The illustrious wicketkeeper-batter demonstrated why he was the finest in the industry not only as a player but also as a tough leader. He has made an outstanding contribution to the Indian squad as well as the Chennai Super Kings of the Indian Premier League, helping the team win four championships since the league’s inception in 2008.

The T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the Champions Trophy in 2013 were all won by MS Dhoni, who is the only male skipper to have ever accomplished this feat. During this time, India had a star-studded batting lineup, with Sachin Tendulkar at the helm and Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh supporting the bowling assault.

When it comes to bowlers, Zaheer Khan oversaw the team’s pace attack while Harbhajan Singh took over as India’s main spinner in place of Anil Kumble. In both 2007 and 2011, Harbhajan was a crucial part of India’s triumphs. The former off-spinner for India, though, admitted that his time with CSK and Dhoni during the IPL was the highlight of his professional career.
“Unbelievable. Those two years were perhaps the best of my cricket career. No tension or conflict. You simply step out there; don’t stress about the outcome. It’s ok if you fall short. This was unique in various ways. It was a lot of fun. Everyone was present. not just the players, but also their families. It was wonderful fun since we used to go all around India with a lot of people, said Harbhajan in a Star Sports interview.

Being the team’s most seasoned spinner, Harbhajan was an important member of the squad as CSK won the title for the third time in 2018. Intriguingly, Harbhajan played on the other team in the IPL 2021 final when Kolkata Knight Riders were defeated by CSK to win the championship for the fourth time.

The Chennai Super Kings had a disappointing campaign last year, finishing ninth in the IPL points standings and missing out on the playoffs. This time, the squad had a successful auction, and Dhoni will be working to lead the group to its fifth championship victory.
