The former captain of Pakistan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, played a knock of a lifetime to help his team not only avoid defeat but also come within striking distance of winning the match. As a result, Pakistan were able to draw the second Test match that they played against New Zealand. The majority of the credit for this achievement goes to Sarfaraz Ahmed.
At one point during the series, Pakistan was in a precarious position, with a score of 80/5. Sarfaraz struck 118 runs, his fourth century in a Test match, to pull them out of the jam and help the series end in a tie.
Immediately after the game, Pakistan’s interim chief selector Shahid Afridi congratulated Sarfaraz for his innings but made it clear that Mohammad Rizwan was the team’s number one choice for white-ball cricket. Afridi made this statement despite the fact that Afridi had previously stated that Sarfaraz was the team’s number one choice for red-ball cricket.
In the press conference, Shahid Afridi stated, “I’m very happy that Saifi has made a comeback and given such an amazing performance, but Mohammad Rizwan is available and he is our main wicket-keeper in both T20Is and ODIs.” “I’m very happy that Saifi has made a comeback and given such an amazing performance,”
If, by some miracle, Rizwan were to get an injury or become very fatigued, we would have to look at our alternatives. Let’s not compare someone’s performance in a test match to what they did in limited overs, shall we?
It was a return series for Sarfaraz, who played his 50th Test during the first match against New Zealand. New Zealand was the opponent for the first game of the series. After all of his hard work, Rizwan took to Twitter to congratulate him.
“Saifi bhai has delivered another great knock. This is what you receive for working hard and having faith in Allah. Mujhe Saifi bhai k Man of the Series hone se aisi hi khushi jase ye mujhe mila ho. Balnk yaqeenan us se bhi zada.
