The right-handed batter Sanju Samson has found himself frequently rotating in and out of Team India, and he has not been able to secure a consistent number of playing opportunities for himself.
Sanju Samson was dropped for the second One-Day International (ODI) match against New Zealand after scoring 36 runs in the first ODI. The team management wanted to have a batting all-rounder who can also roll his arm over for this match. Because Team India did not make any changes to their starting XI for the third One-Day International, Sanju Samson was forced to sit on the bench for this match.
Rishabh Pant’s batting position in one-day internationals was discussed by India’s head coach for the series, VVS Laxman, during an interview with the host broadcaster that took place prior to the third one-day international.
On the other hand, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor did not appear to be convinced by Laxman’s statements, and he posted the following on Twitter: “According to the Twitter user @VVSLaxman281, “Pant has done well at No. 4, so it is important to back him.”
Samson is averaging 66 in one-day internationals, has scored runs in all of his last five matches, and is currently on the bench. He is a good player who is currently out of form and has failed in ten of his last 11 innings. Go figure. @IamSanjuSamson, “tweeting on behalf of Mr. Tharoor

Pant continues his poor run of form, making it very evident that he needs a break from playing white-ball cricket. One more chance was taken away from @IamSanjuSamson, who will now have to wait until the @IPL to demonstrate why he is considered to be one of the best middle-order batsmen in India.
Samson has participated in 11 one-day internationals (ODIs) so far, during which he has scored 330 runs at an average of 66, with his highest score being 86 not out. His average score is 66.
Shikhar Dhawan, the captain of India, explained the reasoning behind the substitution after the second one-day international match was called off due to rain. He stated, “We wanted the sixth bowler to come in, so Sanju Samson missed out and Hooda came in.”
Rain prevented the second One-Day International (ODI) match between India and New Zealand from taking place. Rain forced the abandonment of the game after it had already been played for 12.5 overs and India had reached 89 for 1 in their innings.
After winning the toss for the third One-Day International that is currently being played, Kane Williamson, the captain of New Zealand, decided to bowl first.
