India has been a very interesting force to be reckoned with, especially when it comes to having fun in their own conditions throughout the game’s longest format. They have dominated Tests over the years, as evidenced by their 18 straight home Test series victories since 2013. In the last Test of the just finished series against Bangladesh, they accomplished the most recent record of fielding the fastest teams of 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 in Test cricket history.
In a recent chat, former England captain and World Cup winner Eoin Morgan went into detail on why India was among the best teams at capitalizing on their own circumstances.
“India must be regarded as one of the best in their own circumstances. Their thirst and will to succeed are what make them exceptional. Their attitude is one of never taking anything for granted. Our nations have enormous advantages on the domestic front. However, as the Hindustan Times reported, Morgan said at an event, “Our records over the course of generations are nowhere near as good as Indians.”
Nathan Lyon’s fitness will be a major deciding factor in the series: Eoin Morgan
Morgan also predicted that, if the Indians play Australia’s best spinner, Nathan Lyon, with the same energy they used to counter the Bangladeshi attack in the most recent Test in Kanpur, they will prevail in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
“If they travel to Australia and play that way, Nathan Lyon’s fitness and their approach to playing him will be crucial factors in that series.” It raises a lot of questions about Australia if they play Nathan Lyon in that manner with that mentality, Morgan continued.

India’s performance on foreign soil has improved dramatically over time. They defeated a full-strength Australian squad, who were the favorites, in the previous two BGTs (2018–19 and 2020–21).
