However, it was England all-rounder Sam Curran who stole the show by becoming the most expensive player in the IPL auctions after receiving the highest price of Rs. 18.50 crore from Punjab Kings. This made him the most expensive player in the history of the IPL auctions.
The next player to be selected was the Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who was purchased by Mumbai Indians for 17.50 rupees. IPL powerhouses Chennai Super Kings also made a significant move by spending Rs. 16.25 crore to get Ben Stokes, the captain of England’s test cricket team.

Nicholas Pooran, the former captain of the West Indies, had a fantastic day at the auction after he was purchased by Lucknow Super Giants for the price of 16 crore rupees. As a result of this, Pooran moved up to the fourth spot on the list of most costly purchases made at the IPL 2023 auction.
