Former South Africa quick Morne Morkel will lead Pakistan’s bowling squad

The Pakistan men’s team is expected to choose former South Africa quick Morne Morkel as their new bowling coach. Morkel will be joined by fellow countryman Andrew Puttick, who will serve as the squad’s new batting coach. Mickey Arthur will serve as a consultant for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in addition to the newly announced positions, and he will continue to fulfill his duties as the head coach of Derbyshire.

The PCB wants Arthur to serve as their team director, and he was instrumental in assembling a coaching staff that includes several well-known foreign figures. Grant Bradburn, who formerly served as Pakistan’s fielding coach, will now be in charge of leading the team. Moreover, the new physical therapist and strength and conditioning coach will be Cliffe Deacon and Drikus Saaiman, respectively.

Even though Morkel doesn’t have much coaching experience, he still has enough to qualify him for the position in the near future. Morkel, who is the bowling coach for the Lucknow Super Giants, will begin his duties as soon as the 16th IPL season is over.

He also serves as the SA20 bowling coach for the Durban Super Giants. Before to it, he assisted Namibia’s coaching staff during the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022. Also, he was connected to the White Ferns at the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

Afghanistan will win the series against Pakistan’s young brigade.
In the recently finished three-match T20I series in Sharjah, the Shadab Khan-led team suffered a 2-1 loss. Pakistan lost its first two games in a row because their young players underwhelmed. But, Pakistan battled back in the third T20I to win by 61 runs, saving themselves from embarrassment.

For the series, Pakistan had rested its prominent superstars. Due to workload management, pacers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, as well as captain Babar Azam and wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan, did not play in the series.
