Suresh Raina, a former batsman for India, made the announcement of his retirement from all formats of cricket on Tuesday. It is essential to be aware that the left-handed hitter had already announced his intention to retire from international cricket in 2020, and that he has now made the decision to call it quits with all forms of cricket. Raina made his announcement on Twitter, where he also expressed his gratitude to organisations such as the Chennai Super Kings, Rajeev Shukla, the BCCI, and the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association.
Raina posted the following to her Twitter account: “It has been an incredible privilege for me to represent both my nation and my home state of UP. I would want to use this opportunity to declare that I will be retiring from all formats of cricket. I would want to express my gratitude to @BCCI, @UPCACricket, @ChennaiIPL, @ShuklaRajiv sir, and all of my fans for their support and unshakable faith in my capabilities. I am truly honoured “Raina sent out a tweet.
Earlier, Raina announced that he will step away from international cricket in the year 2020. This announcement came only minutes after Dhoni tweeted “consider me retired” on his Instagram page. “Playing with you, @mahi7781, was nothing but a delightful experience in every way. I make this decision to travel alongside you in this endeavour with a proud feeling in my heart. Thank you India. Jai Hind, “The post was made by Raina on his Instagram page.
The 35-year-old batsman is one of the select few to have scored century in all three formats of the game. He also played in 18 tests, 226 one-day internationals, and 78 Twenty20 Internationals, amassing nearly 8,000 runs for his country.
The most memorable moment of Raina’s career in international cricket was when he played a critical undefeated innings against Australia in a challenging World Cup quarter-final during the successful 2011 campaign.
The left-handed hitter was an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings lineup up until the 2021 season of the tournament; however, the lefty batsman was unsold in the auction that took place before the 2022 season.
