For the first two Twenty20 Internationals against Zimbabwe, the Men’s Selection Committee has selected Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana to start in place of Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
The three will first go to India along with the rest of the Indian squad that won the ICC T20 World Cup, before they left for Harare. Originally, they were supposed to join the Zimbabwe-bound squad for the forthcoming five-match T20I series beginning on Saturday, July 6.
Shubman Gill (captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Tushar Deshpande, Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Harshit Rana are the Indian players for the first and second Twenty20 internationals against Zimbabwe.
Shubman Gill will captain the very young team in the five-match series against Zimbabwe, according to the 15-man roster that BCCI had previously revealed. Tushar Deshpande, Riyan Parag, Abhishek Sharma, and Nitish Reddy all merited their first-ever call-ups for the tour.
India recently demonstrated their dominance in the competition by winning the coveted T20 World Cup Trophy in Barbados. Following their victory, veteran players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli declared their retirements from the competition. It’s time for the younger generation to take charge of the format and propel India to greater heights, Kohli continued.
