First T20I Preview: India, led by Rohit Sharma, aims for ODI victory over West Indies

Having fewer than three months till the T20 World Cup, captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid will have about 16 games to hone their core team before the major event. These games will include 5 against. WI, 5 in the Asia Cup (assuming India play final), 3 vs. Australia, and 3 vs. South Africa.
In order to complete a second straight comfortable win in the three-match T20I series commencing on Friday, a fully-loaded Indian squad would be aiming to overwhelm West Indies.

The very prospect of an opponent facing a first eleven with Rohit, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Dinesh Karthik as the top five specialised hitters can be scary and crippling.

So that too at a time when Virat Kohli, a player of such magnitude, has been performing appallingly in the shortest format and questions are being raised about his position in the starting XI.

India’s white ball players get that commanding, alpha-male presence in the middle, even though their greatest player Kohli is on the decline, as seen by the last England series.
