Without a doubt, one of the most important sportsmen in the world, not just in India, is ace batting player Virat Kohli. But a lot of times, deepfakes and artificial intelligence have been utilized to abuse his influence.
This also happened with a video that went viral, showing an interview with Virat Kohli promoting an online casino and guaranteeing new players a win of Rs 50,000 in just three days. The video was found to be a deepfake, though.
It was discovered that the TV newscaster in the video was also promoting a fake online casino and betting app. The Kohli clip came from an old interview that American journalist Graham Bensinger conducted. The interview was posted on December 22, 2023, on Bensinger’s official YouTube channel.
🚨New: Deepfakes of celebrities have arrived on the scene to hard sell you things. Even if that means selling you offshore betting apps.
An @IndianExpress analysis found Instagram and FB to be replete with such misleading ads. Here’s SRK’s deepfake (🧵) pic.twitter.com/a11StQSMXu

In the IPL 2024, RCB will try to perform at their highest level in the hopes of winning the coveted championship.
