Legendary fast bowlers like Pakistan’s outstanding Waqar Younis, renowned South Africa Dale Steyn, and Indian swing wonder Irfan Pathan are among the Incredible Star Cast’s newest additions.
The ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 is just around the corner, and Star Sports, the competition’s official broadcaster, has unveiled its newest recruits to the Incredible Star Cast panel for “Mission World Cup.” As these cricketing icons share their enormous knowledge and distinct viewpoints on the upcoming cricket extravaganza, fans and admirers of the game can look forward to receiving a wealth of insights and in-depth analysis.
On September 30 and October 3, 2023, Team India will play their two exhibition matches against England and the Netherlands, respectively. All cricket lovers and fans of the Star Sports Network (Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports 2, and Disney+ Hotstar) can watch these games live and exclusively on those networks.
“See, on logic, you can’t drop England from the finalists spot because they have a very strong team, and the way they are playing cricket with their all-rounders like at number 9, they have all-rounder batsmen like Chris Woakes, so I know that, but I have a hunch in my heart which says that South Africa will do great,” said Irfan Pathan, a Star Cast expert for Mission World Cup, in an exclusive interview with Star Sports.
So, for me, it’s South Africa and India. See, South Africa has a great chance to succeed in this World Cup because they came here with a strong team and good form, but India will unquestionably win it because they are currently in their best form, played well in the Asia Cup, and, as Waqar Younis noted, have checked all the right boxes at the right time.
For this World Cup 2023, Dale Steyn named his two finalists, saying, “It’s a tough one, you know my heart wants to go with South Africa making the final. Since their team frequently competes in India and several of their players participate in the IPL, I would love for them to reach the final. They had some players, such as David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen, who really began to understand such circumstances and bat effectively there.
Additionally, several of their other senior players have played a lot of cricket there, including KG Rabada, who has been bowling there for a very long time. Therefore, I believe that with the addition of those guys, they have the potential to advance and reach the finals. But I’m not really certain, so I guess I have to follow Waqar’s lead.
Yes, I believe that India and possibly England are the favorites. I believe that India will compete in the finals. However, even though my heart wants to say South Africa and India, I’m leaning more toward England and India.
