The 10th game of the BBL 2023–24 will take place on Thursday, December 21, at Docklands Stadium in Melbourne between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat REN vs HEA. Despite participating in two games this season, Renegades is still yet to secure their first victory. They have dropped one game and, because of the state of the pitch, one match resulted in a draw. With two wins from three games, Heat leads the standings in terms of points scored.
Due to unfavorable pitch conditions, Renegades’ most recent game versus the Scorchers had to be called off. After winning the toss, the Renegades chose to bowl, and the Scorchers scored 30 runs in 6.5 overs with two wickets lost before match officials decided to call time. Because of an area of dampness on the surface that made for ungainly bounces, the umpires decided it was unsuitable and called the game off.
The Sydney Thunder recently played the Brisbane Heat, and after winning the toss, they decided to bowl. Despite taking seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs, the Heat managed to score 151 runs. With 46 runs from 33 deliveries, including two fours and two sixes, Colin Munro emerged as the leading scorer. With three wickets at 21 runs, Tanveer Sangha displayed a strong bowling performance.
The Thunder failed to reach their target of 152 runs and were bowled out for 131 runs, giving the Brisbane Heat a 20-run victory. Oliver Davies top-scored for the Thunder with 35 runs off of 30 deliveries, and Chris Green also had a standout batting performance with 30 runs off of 20 deliveries.
