The Pakistan cricket squad was taken to the cleaners by Ben Stokes and company during the Test series that they hosted at home against England. England became the first team to complete a 3-0 Test series sweep in Pakistan. They did this by playing their own form of cricket, which is famously known as “Bazzball.”
The manner in which Pakistan performed in the series has resulted in them receiving a great deal of criticism, and even their skipper, Babar Azam, has not been spared by the criticism.
In point of fact, veteran Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has stated that comparisons between Babar and Virat Kohli are inappropriate.
“It is time for people to stop drawing comparisons between Babar Azam and Virat Kohli. Players of the calibre of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are examples of very significant competitors. There is nobody on Pakistan’s team who can be comparable to them who can compete with them.
If you can get them to talk, you’ll have a king on your hands. If you want them to generate results, you will receive nothing in return “explained Kaneria in a video that was uploaded to his channel on YouTube.
Kaneria also referred to Babar in the video as “a gigantic zero” when discussing his potential as a captain.
During the course of the match, he claimed that the captain of Pakistan should have listened to Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes in order to pick up some useful information.
“As captain, Babar Azam is a huge disappointment. He is not qualified to serve as the team captain. He is not qualified to lead the team, particularly when it comes to playing in test matches of cricket.
During the course of the series, he had an excellent opportunity to pick up some captaincy skills by observing Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum. Or, he could have put his ego to the side and asked Sarfaraz Ahmed for advice on how to captain the team “Kaneria stated.
The former Pakistan spinner even suggests later on in the video that Babar should stop playing the longest format of the game altogether.
