Gujarat Giants defeated UP Warriorz by six wickets in the previous game, bouncing back from a season-opening loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They chose to bowl first and held UP to a disappointing 143. Gujarat was 2/3 after two overs of replying, but Ash Gardner, the skipper, came in and counterattacked her way to a half-century, giving Gujarat the boost they needed. Harleen and Dottin carried on the attack after Gardner was removed, and Gujarat won the match handily.
On the other side, the Mumbai Indians lost the first game to the Delhi Capitals. After batting first, they reached 164 thanks to a superb half-century from Nat Sciver. They had a chance to surpass 200 at one point, but a barrage of wickets saw them bowled out for 164 with five balls remaining. Shafali responded by taking the game away in powerplay, but MI put up a strong fight to win the match. The Delhi Capitals won the game of the last ball with ten runs needed in the last over. This game is sure to be thrilling.
