Yuvraj Singh, a legendary former Indian all-rounder, was spotted in Chandigarh with Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper Shubman Gill ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs. This has sparked conjecture that the World Cup-winning cricketer has taken on a coaching job at the Gujarat-based team for the tournament’s final stages.
The 2022 champions uploaded a photo of Yuvraj Singh and Shubman strolling side by side, with the caption “Ki haal chaal, #TitansFAM?”
The Titans, who have already qualified for the playoffs, will compete in either Qualifier 1 or the Eliminator at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. They are presently ranked second on the points table, but might drop to third if Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeats Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the tournament’s last round-robin game.
It is worth noting that before to the season, some rumours stated Yuvraj was in contention to succeed Ashish Nehra as the Titans’ next head coach. The former has a positive relationship with both Nehra and Shubman. He was instrumental in helping Shubman improve his batting skills, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the end, Gujarat stuck with Nehra, and the squad has done pretty well under his leadership in the IPL 2025 following last year’s disaster. The Titans have won nine of their fourteen games this season. However, they will enter the playoffs after losing two consecutive games against LSG and Chennai Super Kings.
If Yuvraj joins GT’s coaching team, even for a short time, it might be extremely useful to the players because the 43-year-old knows how to win championships. He has won the T20 and ODI World Cups, as well as two IPL crowns.
