The West Indies Women’s journey to England to play England Women in a three-match T20I and ODI series will not include Chinelle Henry. Because she was excluded from the limited-overs units, wicketkeeper-batter Rashada Williams will also be unable to play in the series.
The two additions made by WI-W to their team, which tragically failed to qualify for the 50-over World Cup, were Realeanna Grimmond, 20, and Jahzara Claxton, 19. Both players have not yet made their senior team debuts.
In order to reclaim their position as a “world-class team with world-class players” in cricket, Shane Dietz, the head coach of the West Indian team, has urged his players to make the most of the tour.
“We have a great chance to face one of the top teams in the world for a long time, test our abilities, and put what we’ve discussed off the pitch into practice by travelling to England. We are excited to perform well for the audience in England and for all of our fans back in the Caribbean. We brought a strong team with us. To re-establish ourselves as a world-class team with world-class players, this trip will be fantastic,” Dietz said.
The significance of the series was also emphasised by Cricket West Indies’ Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe.
“This forthcoming trip of England presents our women with a significant chance to re-establish themselves on the global scene. Bascombe said, “It’s an opportunity to showcase the skill, perseverance, and moral fibre that are hallmarks of West Indies cricket.
