The team from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is apparently stranded in Lucknow. Before facing the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2025, the squad was in the city. The other games, including the match between LSG and RCB, will have to be rescheduled, though, as the 18th Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed in the middle owing to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

In the meantime, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is putting quick and safe plans in place to guarantee that the players and support personnel of the competing teams get to their destinations without incident.

The RCB franchise is reportedly awaiting additional directives from board members.

This comes after the May 8 game between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala was called off after only 10.1 overs of play. The game’s cancellation was initially attributed to a technical glitch, but it was later verified that a blackout was enforced in the area due to the escalating hostilities between the neighbouring countries. It was then requested that the players and fans leave the stadium.

The BCCI, meanwhile, declared that the competition would be halted for a week while officials kept an eye on the issue.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made the decision to immediately halt the remaining IPL 2025 games for a week. A thorough analysis of the issue in collaboration with pertinent authorities and stakeholders will be followed by the announcement of additional details regarding the tournament’s new schedule and locations, according to a BCCI release.

“The decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders following the representations from most of the franchisees, who conveyed the concern and sentiments of their players, and also the views of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans ; while the BCCI reposes full faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board considered it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders,” stated the statement.
