Rangpur Riders, the defending champions, have officially named their lineup for the highly anticipated 2025 Global Super League (GSL), which will be held at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence from July 10 to July 18.

In 2024, the Rangpur Riders were without a point after their first three games, but they recovered their form and eventually won their last three games to become champions.

With aggressive batting, disciplined bowling, and excellent leadership, the Riders were deserving winners of an action-packed competition.

The Rangpur Riders, one of the top franchises in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), bring extensive experience to the GSL. After winning the BPL championship in 2017, the Riders have continuously been a playoff contender for the past three seasons, demonstrating their reputation for competence and resilience.

The Riders are keen to defend their GSL championship and have retained crucial players to support them. Nurul Hasan, the inspired captain, will once again lead the defending champions. Soumya Sarkar, the tournament’s best run scorer in its maiden season, returns, as does Kamrul Islam Rabbi, who led the bowling attack.

The Riders have added West Indian top-order batsman Kyle Mayers, South African left-arm wrist spinner bowler Tabraiz Shamsi, Pakistani all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed, and Afghanistan’s top-order batsman Abrahim Zadran to help the local talents.

The squad is a nice blend of youth and experience, with a focus on the conditions.
