The acronym for “Youngest Of All Time” is Y.O.A.T. In the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been referred to by this moniker.

At the age of 13, the Bihar batsman made history last year by being the youngest player to be listed for the IPL auction. The Rajasthan Royals acquired Suryavanshi for INR 1.10 crore at the mega-auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. His purchase at an IPL auction made him the youngest player ever.

Sanju Samson and MS Dhoni talked about Suryavanshi playing in the IPL in a promotional video published by Star Sports prior to the start of IPL 2025.

“This is where the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) will clash against the Youngest Of All Time (YOAT),” said the title of the promotional video. Any side can triumph here, and everyone can alter the course of events.”

Even GOAT #MSDhoni had a hint of doubt at first, but after that century vs GT, there’s no question left for #VaibhavSuryavanshi the YOAT (Youngest Of All Time). 🎯

Star Sports has continued to use the YOAT word since this advertisement. In his maiden match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 19, Suryavanshi blasted two sixes off the first three deliveries he faced and amassed a scorching 34 off 20 balls.

On April 28, he made the decision to establish his authority and demonstrate that he belonged at this level, even if the cricket community was already pleased by the way he destroyed some international bowlers in his first match. Suryavanshi hit the second-fastest IPL century on March 27, his 14th birthday. At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the southpaw hit a century off of 35 balls against the Gujarat Titans.

Even though the Royals finished the season with only four victories and ten losses in 14 games, they have undoubtedly discovered a talent that will be valuable to them for many years to come. At a staggering strike rate of 206.56 and an outstanding average of 36, the opening batsman amassed 252 runs from seven innings.
