A Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fan has begun a social media campaign encouraging fans to honour Virat Kohli’s Test career by wearing whites to the May 17 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. After announcing his retirement from the game’s longest format,
Kohli’s devoted fans and RCB supporters appear to want to honour his legacy with this symbolic act.
X and other social media platforms are circulating a viral note urging supporters to show up wearing Test whites or even just plain white T-shirts to show Kohli how much Indian cricket fans loved him while he played in his favoured format. Kohli just abruptly decided to hang up his boots without playing a last game.
Chinnaswamy is one place where Virat knows he gets only love & he’s always in awe of that so let’s give the man what he deserves. He didn’t get a farewell on the field in this format so let’s make this happen for Virat in the RCBvKKR match. pic.twitter.com/fhu60D4yGC

On Monday, May 12, Kohli shocked the cricket community by posting on Instagram about his retirement from Test cricket. Many fans and commentators believed that Kohli had a lot more to contribute to Indian cricket and that, because of his unwavering enthusiasm and hunger for Test cricket, he ought to have stayed in the game longer than he did.
RCB will take on KKR in what will be the first game of IPL 2025 after it was temporarily postponed due to the cross-border tension between India and Pakistan following the terrible murder of tourists in Pahalgam. The two sides met in the season opener at the Eden Gardens as well. RCB claimed victory by an emphatic seven-wicket margin with 22 deliveries to spare. Kohli ended up unbeaten on 59* (36).
