One of the five places the top committee has chosen for refurbishment is Kolkata’s famous Eden Gardens. The 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup will be held in India from October 5 to November 19. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the opening match of the competition will feature the two World Cup finalists from 2019: New Zealand and England.
Ten locations around the nation will host the eagerly anticipated ICC global tournament. Five stadiums will be renovated in advance of the competition, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated earlier in June.

Four ODI World Cup matches will take place at the Eden Gardens. The high-tension semifinal 2 scheduled for November 16 will also be contested at the famous stadium. The games that will take place in the renowned location, in addition to the knockout game, are Netherlands-Bangladesh, Pakistan-Bangladesh, India-South Africa, and England-Pakistan.
At Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on October 8, the hosts will begin their campaign against the five-time champions Australia. Meanwhile, on October 13 in Ahmedabad, the much awaited encounter between India and Pakistan will take place.
India will host Australia before leaving for the ODI World Cup in 2023.
Team India will be very motivated because they just finished a strong run in the Asia Cup 2023. For the eighth time, Rohit Sharma and company won the continental championship after defeating the reigning champions Sri Lanka by a margin of 10 wickets.
Prior to the World Cup, India will play host to Australia in a three-match One-Day International series. The first game will take place at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on September 22. The two-time World Cup champions are currently the second-ranked ODI squad with 114.659 ratings following their success in the Asia Cup. If they succeed in winning the upcoming series, the Men in Blue will be the top-ranked team going into the World Cup.
