At Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, hundreds of supporters gathered to greet the victorious T20 World Cup 2024 squad with a magnificent welcome. Before arriving at ITC Maurya, India captain Rohit Sharma waved the trophy. The ITC management team organised a unique cake-cutting event specifically for the winners.
To symbolise the colours of the Indian flag, the cooks at ITC Maurya created a unique three-tier cake in the shades of orange, blue, and white. The cake was crowned with pictures of India’s thrilling victory at Kensington Oval in Barbados, as well as a copy of the T20 World Cup trophy. Along with their T20 World Cup shirts, the players were also donning special India jerseys made for the occasion, which read “Champions” instead of the name of the sponsor.
