April 23, 2024, New Delhi: The Delhi Capitals, who have won three of their previous eight games, will try to change the tide in the remaining IPL 2024 games.
During the media day on Monday, David Warner, the opener for the Delhi Capitals and a seasoned IPL player, spoke extensively about a range of cricket-related topics, including the team’s success thus far this season.
For the benefit of the team, we’re not where we want to be. We hope to win a couple more matches. However, in order to obviously compete in the finals, we must win the next remaining match. Thus, for us, it’s about giving it our all. We should be able to play every game the way we did against Gujarat,” he thought to himself.
We still need to make some progress with the bat and the ball. It would be fantastic if we could reduce the totals. The Australian batsman continued, “And if we bat first, try to put a big total on the board and defend it.”
David Warner went on to emphasize the Delhi Capitals’ potent bowling assault.
“The way the boys are preparing and training is excellent. Simply put, there are moments when the games’ execution falls short. We also know that our bowling attack is quite dangerous when we take early and decisive wickets.”
Warner responded, “Jake’s been very good,” when asked about the two young players on the squad who have impressed him this season. He has undoubtedly always been talented. Additionally exceptional has been Abishek Porel.
“After we lost early wickets, Abishek Porel entered the game as an impact player even though he wasn’t even scheduled to participate in the first one. He may have had nine balls or so, and he scored about thirty runs. That altered the course of the match, and he also performed admirably the other day. He’s going to be an excellent player,” he said in closing.
The Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans will play their next IPL 2024 game on Wednesday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
