MS Dhoni declared that he would return for a second season as a token of appreciation for all of their support after the team won the 2023 Indian Premier League. But Dhoni’s IPL 2024 did not have a happily ever after.
Over the years, veteran batsman MS Dhoni of the Chennai Super Kings has been a pillar of the team. For the CSK supporters, Dhoni is a god-like character and a living legend who has led the team to five IPL titles. Dhoni is still playing in the IPL for CSK despite having officially announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020.
The five-time winners were knocked out of the competition in the group round, and there’s been no word on whether Dhoni will return for another campaign.
But Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of the Chennai Super Kings, has come up to say that they desire to see Dhoni back.
“I’m not sure; only Microsoft can respond to that query. The issue is that we have always accepted MS’s judgments and have left them to him. He has always made his decisions and made them known at the proper moment, as you are all aware. We certainly anticipate hearing from him as soon as he makes a decision. However, we sincerely hope that he will be able to participate in CSK the next year. In a video posted to CSK’s YouTube account, Kasi Viswanathan expressed his and the fans’ expectations.
I haven’t talked about Viswanathan or Stephen Fleming anymore.
The CEO of CSK also discussed the upcoming vacancy for the head coach of the Indian men’s senior squad. Stephen Fleming, the head coach of CSK, is one of the contenders for the position. Viswanathan expressed his opinion that Fleming would not be suited for the position of head coach for India.

“Have you applied for the Indian coaching assignment?’ I questioned Stephen in jest. Stephen simply chuckled and asked, “Do you want me to?” I know he won’t be happy about this because he dislikes being involved in coaching for nine to ten months out of the year. That’s how I feel. I haven’t talked about him any more,” Viswanathan stated.
