Sunil Gavaskar is well-known for speaking from the heart and calling things what they are. He may be 75 years old, but his commentary is full of vigour and enthusiasm. Gavaskar is also an avid follower of Indian cricket.
Sunil Gavaskar is frequently in the spotlight due to his honest perspectives on the sport.
However, the former India captain asked cricket fans to verify and fact-check quotes attributed to him, particularly those from individual accounts and sports websites.
“Over the last few months, I’ve seen that several sports websites and individual accounts have attributed statements and quotes to me that I never made. I encourage everyone to verify, fact-check, and not believe everything they read. Particularly coming from some of these personal accounts and sports websites. “God bless you all,” Gavaskar stated in a video posted to his official Instagram account.

“Please verify before believing quotes attributed to me,” the cricketer-turned-commentator wrote in the caption of his post.
Gavaskar is now in England, where he is providing commentary for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. His excitement after Rishabh Pant made a century in the second innings of the first Test at Headingley, Leeds, captured the hearts of cricket fans. Gavaskar wanted to see Pant perform his characteristic somersault celebration. However, the wicketkeeper-batsman put everything on wait to focus on bringing India into a better position.
Pant, who also hit a century in the first innings, was unable to prevent England from chasing down a 371-run mark with five wickets to spare. The second Test begins on Wednesday, July 2, at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
