Subramaniam Badrinath, a former player for the Chennai Super Kings, believes that one of the main reasons Sanju Samson wants to leave the Rajasthan Royals is because Riyan Parag is being pushed for the captaincy position. There have been several rumours circulating that Samson would leave RR.

“I believe Riyan Parag is to blame. In a video posted to his YouTube account, Badrinath asked, “How do you expect someone like Samson to stay if you consider him for captaincy?”

Badrinath went on to explain why, should Samson be acquired by CSK in the future, he would not be the best match if he did not bat in the top four batting slots. However, given the makeup of their team, Badrinath expressed doubt that CSK would take the chance of bringing in Samson.

“Sanju Samson could be MS Dhoni’s like-for-like replacement if he joins CSK.” It is possible for Samson to bat in the top three or fourth positions of the batting order. He would not be able to play in the starting lineup at number five or number six. In certain areas of the playing XI, CSK excels. He said, “Mhatre, Gaikwad, and Brevis are all settled.

Samson Badrinath is not a person who would fit in at No. 5 or 6.

“I’m not sure if CSK would get Hardik Pandya from GT in a deal similar to what MI accomplished. Therefore, it is still unclear if CSK will be able to include Sanju Samson in the starting lineup, Badrinath said.

The fact that Samson wants to leave RR has been verified. According to Cricbuzz, the management’s desire to move Samson to No. 3 given the prominence of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top of the order was another factor in the wicketkeeper-batter’s change of heart.
