Ravindra Jadeja had an interesting interaction with on-field umpire Chris Gaffaney when he pumped his fists in front of him following a successful ball change.
The amusing incident occurred at the conclusion of the 27th over in the fourth innings of the first Test. Gaffaney reciprocated by smiling and patting the all-rounder on the back.
Notably, India had been requesting a change in the ball being used for quite some time. However, their efforts were unsuccessful. The ball was tested through the hoops after the aforementioned over, and it failed the test, so the umpires selected a replacement ball.

The tourists had asked the umpires to replace the ball before in this Test. On Day 3, Indian vice-captain Rishabh Pant made a similar request, which the umpire declined. Pant flung the ball in irritation, and was penalised for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
Meanwhile, after starting at 21/0 in six overs on Day 5, England went into lunch at 117 for no loss in 30 overs. Ben Duckett (64* off 89) scored his 15th Test half-century, ably aided by Zak Crawley (42* off 93). The opening duo will seek to reduce the deficit at a good run rate in order to give their team the best chance of winning.
Jasprit Bumrah (0/21 in nine overs) and Mohammed Siraj (0/23 in eight overs) bowled at less than three runs per over. However, Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur gave more runs than India would have liked.
