Even though Jasprit Bumrah missed two Test matches, former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke believes the Indian bowling attack deserves far more recognition for their recent performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.

Notably, India defeated England in both Test matches even though Bumrah was not included in the starting lineup. With a thrilling six-run victory at The Oval to tie the series, Michael Clarke commended the touring team’s efforts.

“To level the series by winning the final game.” Whoa! Amazing, very outstanding. As well as the other thing. The world’s top bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, did not play in India’s two Test victories. Michael Clarke said on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast that Bumrah did not participate in the two Test matches that India won.

Additionally, he explained that Bumrah’s presence on any team automatically strengthens it.

Therefore, a lot of credit should go to the other bowlers in the Indian team for their ability to step up. And I do think that any team that has Bumrah on it is a better squad, and I doubt that anyone would disagree. But that bowling attack deserves a lot of credit for winning those two games without him,” Michael Clarke continued.

Michael Clarke joined the chorus of former cricket players and commentators who have already praised Mohammed Siraj for leading the pace-bowling unit in Bumrah’s absence and supporting the squad at pivotal moments.

“India is bowling once again, Siraj and Krishna. Whoa! Siraj always seems to have this “I’ve got to stand up” mentality and attitude when Bumrah isn’t present. When the squad is under pressure, he wants the ball. He bowls better, in my opinion, when he is under more pressure and expectation. I believe he takes great pleasure in his position on the team. “Just to keep it going, fifer in the second innings,” he said.

India tied the series 2-2 and kept the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. With respective career-best match totals of 9/190 and 8/188, Siraj and Prasidh Krishna were instrumental in helping their team rally and emerge victorious.
