After the first window occurred between March 26 and May 30, the 19th Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place from March 28 to May 31. The highly anticipated tournament’s complete schedule won’t be revealed all at once, though.

“By March 12, we intend to release the IPL 2026 timetable. We will announce the IPL schedule for the first 20 days for the time being,” Devajit Saikia stated, according to NDTV Sports.

In order to avoid a conflict with assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, and Tamil Nadu, it is thought that the rest of the tournament schedule will be revealed at a later time.

On the other hand, teams have already begun preparing for the forthcoming IPL season. The renowned MS Dhoni and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad were there when the five-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) began training on March 1 at their High-Performance Centre in Navalur.

On February 10, previous champions Gujarat Titans held two training sessions at the Miraj International Cricket Stadium in Nathdwara, while reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru staged a small preparatory camp at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

The Punjab Kings travelled to Abu Dhabi in early February to train overseas. They are now having a practice camp in Dharamsala, while 2016 winners Sunrisers Hyderabad began their camp on March 1 with its domestic players. The Mumbai Indians, led by Hardik Pandya, have already begun preparing for the forthcoming campaign.

Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders will start their preseason camp on 18 March, while inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals are anticipated to get back together for a practice session in Jaipur starting on 15 March. While the Lucknow Super Giants held a practice session in Lucknow, the Delhi Capitals recently held one in Hyderabad and are scheduled to hold another in New Delhi. Yuvraj Singh, who has mentored players like Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, and Sanju Samson, among others, is training alongside their captain, Rishabh Pant.

With clubs bolstering their rosters with important additions during the mini-auction, IPL 2026 looks to be an entertaining event. Last year, teams like CSK and KKR had unremarkable campaigns. They decided to restructure their teams in an effort to make a big comeback in the upcoming season.
