The Gujarat Titans (GT) will be pleased with the score they achieved against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in their IPL 2025 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After Suryakumar Yadav led MI in the first game, Hardik Pandya returned as captain for this one.

Young bowler Vignesh Puthur, who had an outstanding game against the Chennai Super Kings, was left out of MI’s starting XI as a result of Pandya’s inclusion. The Titans, on the other hand, continued to use their old lineup. At the toss, Shubman Gill said that although GT would have preferred to bowl first, they felt comfortable setting a target because of their potent batting lineup.

With openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill forming a strong connection, the home team got off to a good start. However, Gill was the first to go for 38 off 27 balls after being caught by Naman Dhir off the bowling of Hardik Pandya. Before being removed by Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Jos Buttler, who had entered at number three, looked dangerous and hammered 39 off 24 balls.

Sai Sudharsan, however, was the mainstay with 63 runs off 41 balls, including two sixes and four boundaries. In the 18th over, Trent Boult trapped him leg before wicket, ending his innings. Near the conclusion, the 2022 champions lost wickets in quick succession, with Rashid Khan (6 off 4) falling to Satyanarayana Raju and Pandya dismissing M Shahrukh Khan (9 off 7). Rahul Tewatia (run out for 0) and Sherfane Rutherford (18 off 11) also left the pitch early, making it challenging for the team to reach 200.

They posted a solid total of 196/8 in 20 overs despite the late collapse. MI made a respectable bowling effort; their captain finished with numbers of 2/29, and Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, and others each contributed a wicket. All eyes were on MI’s star-studded batting lineup because they needed to win by 197 runs.

Let’s look at the funniest mid-innings memes from GT vs MI, Match 9 of IPL 2024:
