India racer Akash Deep has reportedly found himself in hot trouble over the acquisition of his “dream” automobile, only days after making the purchase. The 28-year-old disclosed on social media last week that he had purchased a Toyota Fortuner upon his return to India following the exhausting five-match Test series between England and India.
However, a new report claims that the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department has sent the Bengali seamen a warning for using a car without a High Security Registration Plate (HSRP).
High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) were adopted by the Indian government to withstand greater wear and tear than ordinary car number plates, which are more likely to be damaged.
Special number plates known as HSRPs are impossible to steal or counterfeit because they have multiple security elements, such as laser codes, non-removable screws, and a hologram.
The Dehri-born driver received a notice because Deep’s black Toyota Fortuner lacked a HSRP, according to an India Today story.
Akash Deep bought the car from M/s Sunny Motors, a dealer who has also been disciplined for allegedly delivering the vehicle before completing the registration procedure and installing a HSRP.
After receiving a one-month suspension, the dealer company has 14 days to provide an explanation.
Dream came true. I got the keys. On Instagram, Akash Deep posted images of the car with his loved ones, writing, “With the ones who matter most.”
How did the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy go for Akash Deep?
Throughout the five-match Test series against England, Akash Deep fought ailments. He did, however, deliver a few standout efforts that aided India at different points during the series. Deep took 10 wickets in the second Test match at Edgbaston, Birmingham, including a six-for in the second innings.
In the second innings of India’s fifth and final Test match at The Oval, he scored an important 66, demonstrating his usefulness with the bat as well. The thrilling match was ultimately won by the Men in Blue by six runs, resulting in a 2-2 series draw.
