Ajinkya Rahane, a veteran Indian cricketer, and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan joined forces to support the Sneh Asha Foundation’s effort at the Rangsharda Auditorium in Bandra West. The initiative focusses on transforming lives through education and technology, with the foundation announcing the opening of ten new cutting-edge computer laboratories in BMC and TMC schools, as well as the admission of 12 students to its flagship scholarship scheme.

More than 800 people attended the event on June 20, including government officials, corporate executives, educators, and benefactors. Rahane, who was excited to join the campaign, gave his ideas on inspiring young pupils.

‘When education meets opportunity, the future shines. Honoured to be part of a meaningful initiative by Sneh Asha Foundation, empowering 15,000+ students with access to technology and education. Grateful to share the moment with Hon’ble Minister @ShelarAshish ji, @BeingSalmanKhan , @N_Hiranandani , @SJaiswal_IAS , and other dignitaries working towards a brighter tomorrow,” he wrote on X.

Salman Khan, a Bollywood star, presented medals and personalised presents to the scholarship recipients while also donating 30 brand new laptop computers to the foundation. The ceremony also saw the opening of ten high-tech computer labs, which house over 600 high-performance systems. These labs are expected to directly assist more than 15,000 students in grades 6 through 10. The centres are intended to teach pupils a variety of digital skills, ranging from fundamental computer literacy to advanced ideas like as coding, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.

The event also commemorated the completion of Batch 3 of the Sneh Asha Scholarship Program. This organisation provides comprehensive assistance to students from impoverished communities, including coaching, college tuition, mentorship, laptops, and career counselling. The scholars are developed through three specialised tracks: Saraswati (for Class 10 toppers), Shakti (graduation), and Laxmi (post-graduate).
