On July 15, 2024, the Andhra Pradesh government pledged to provide young and aspiring cricket players with extensive support, including specialised training in academies supervised by foreign players, through Kondapalli Srinivas, the minister for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
He congratulated cricket players G.S.P. Teja, Ashwin Hebbar, Kodavandla Sudharshan, and other members of the Vizag Warriors, as well as Gedela Srinubabu, CEO of Pulsus Group and franchise owner of the team, in Vizianagaram, alongside former Union Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju.
The team met with Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Srinivas, and other government representatives in this regard.
Thinking back on his association with the Andhra Cricket Academy, Ashok emphasised the reputation of Vizianagaram for having first-rate sporting facilities, particularly the Vijji Stadium. Srinubabu promised to host more regional competitions to find gifted athletes. Teja and Sudarshan credited the training facilities in Vizianagaram for their performance in every APL game.
The Vizag Warriors emerged victorious in the Andhra Premier League final on Saturday night in Visakhapatnam, defeating the Uttarandhra Lions by an innings.
