In the recently finished Test series between the two teams, Bangladesh lost two games to team India. The first meeting between the two teams took place at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, where Bangladesh lost by 280 runs despite having some promising innings.
Moreover, the teams met again in Kanpur, where weather prevented play for several days, but India overcame Bangladesh to win the final two days of the match. India won the series after defeating the visitors by seven wickets in the second Test of the series.
Head coach of Bangladesh Chandika Hathurusinghe lamented his team’s performance and Bangladesh’s loss to India. Although Bangladesh had just defeated Pakistan in a series prior to the start of this one, the head coach claims that his team was unable to adjust to India’s strategy.
“We are suffering greatly from the loss in terms of performance. India’s strategy was truly unprecedented. Kudos to Rohit and the Indian team for devising that strategy and succeeding with it. We didn’t respond to India’s approach quickly enough, as Hathurusinghe was cited by stating.

The head coach also discussed Bangladesh’s poor batting performance during the series. He voiced his disappointment with the bat performance throughout the course of the two matches and attributed the lack of success with the bat to India’s strong bowling attack.
“In this series, hitting was underwhelming. A few athletes had success in the previous series. In the last few series, we haven’t been playing to our full ability. The caliber of the competition was one factor in the batting. This series featured extremely high levels of skill showing.

This is teaching us a lot of things. The best team is this one. The most difficult task is to represent India in India. We are aware of our improvement needs,” Hathurusinghe remarked.
