Legendary West Indian batsman Brian Lara has selected the Rajasthan Royals as the favorites in their next matchup with the Gujarat Titans. According to the former great, the Royals appear to have stabilized as a team and have all of their bases covered. Having won each of their first four games to take the top spot in the points table, Sanju Samson and Co. are the only team in the competition without a loss.
The Royals defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by a score of 20 runs to start their campaign. They orchestrated a successful defense once more in their second match, defeating Delhi Capitals by a margin of 12 runs. To make it four in a row, they won their following two matches against the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru by the same six-wicket margin.
“I absolutely adore Rajasthan and find it to be my favorite state. They have all bases covered. They are still undefeated in the competition and are playing excellent cricket.
Brian Lara stated to Star Sports, “I don’t see Gujarat Titans doing that tomorrow.”
In contrast, the Titans have had constant ups and downs in their first four games, with alternate victories and defeats. They come into the match against the Royals having lost their last two games, first to the Lucknow Super Giants by 33 runs and then to Punjab Kings by three wickets. They had defeated the Mumbai Indians by six runs to begin the 2024 season on a positive one. However, they then lost to the Chennai Super Kings by 63 runs before overcoming Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets.
Ambati Rayudu, a former Indian cricket player, offered his opinions on the match. Titans are the clear favorites to win in Jaipur, he said, implying that the law of averages will finally catch up with the Royals.
“The Gujarat Titans are a fantastic team that has shown excellent management thus far. With these few losses, I don’t think their team or philosophy have changed in any way. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back. Applying the law of averages alone, he predicted Gujarat Titans would defeat Rajasthan Royals.
