There’s no stopping cricket; it just keeps on delivering. There is a plenty of cricket action going on around the world in addition to the T20 World Cup 2024, which has been capturing the interest of most fans. There have been several incredible catches in the past few days, like Sybrand Engelbrecht’s breathtaking capture against Bangladesh at the mega-event and the amazing leaping one-hander in the Bengal Pro T20 2024. A little more than a week has passed since Zimbabwean cricketer Sikandar Raza’s amazing catch at the long-off boundary during Blast 2024. In the Durham-Lancashire match, an equally amazing achievement took place during the same competition.
Chasing a formidable 219, Lancashire were making good headway after taking two early wickets, amassing 63 runs in the opening six overs. Keaton Jennings and Matthew Hurst looked great, like they were ready to take control of the game. The start of Paul Coughlin’s first over of the day was anything than perfect, as his score was “2nb, 1, 4, 4.”
Though his reactions were remarkable, his fourth delivery was equally poor. Hurst essentially converted it into a full-toss by moving into a full delivery and driving it directly back at Coughlin. In addition to deflecting a body punch, the 31-year-old made a remarkable catch by extending his right palm in front of his face. He was completely off-balance, which made this performance even more amazing because he was still able to stay on the ball. Hurst was shocked at the rapid response and stood there dumbfounded for a moment before grudgingly returning to the pavilion.
OH MY WORD!!!! PAUL COUGHLIN. 😮😮
