The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), the nation’s highest cricket regulating body, made a historic announcement today announcing that they will be paying Indian players more.
This has been split into a seasonal amount and a per-game basis. Indian cricketers will receive a per-game salary of INR 7.5 lakh if they are included in the playing XI, on top of the income that they will receive from their individual contracts with their various Indian Premier League teams. To encourage further involvement from the drafted players, the governing board has also declared a massive sum of INR 1.05 crore, which does not include the agreed upon payment.
Additionally, it has been revealed that each club will pay match fees totaling INR 12.60 crore for the duration of the season.
