Following PM Narendra Modi’s request to change the display picture in favor of the “Har Ghar Tiranga campaign,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) lost its blue tick on its social media account ‘X’ (Twitter).
PM Narendra Modi asked everyone to change their profile photographs on their various social media accounts to the Indian flag in advance of the 77th Independence Day, which will be observed nationwide on August 15. The PM’s decision was supported during the process, and the top cricket board altered their display picture in support of the campaign.
However, in doing so, the BCCI lost the blue check next to their ‘X’ moniker, which has caused a social media frenzy. The management of ‘X’ will now assess BCCI’s profile in accordance with the platform’s updated criteria, and if it complies with all of them, the blue tick will be reinstated.
It is important to note that the BCCI may go through the same process and lose its blue tick once more after Independence Day, if and when they return to their original emblem.
When referring to the national squad, team India completely overpowered the West Indies in the fourth T20I, winning by a margin of nine wickets. In doing so, the Men in Blue evened up the current five-match series, 2-2.
The fifth and final Twenty20 International will be contested at Lauderhill’s Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground on Sunday, August 13, and both teams will be aiming to win.
After the multi-format series against the Windies is finished, the team led by Rohit Sharma will focus on the keenly awaited Asia Cup 2023. On Saturday, September 2, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka, the Men in Blue will play their season opener against their bitter rivals Pakistan. The BCCI will probably reveal the team for the ACC event in the next few days because the same lineup is quite likely to be selected for the critical ODI World Cup, which starts on October 5 in India.
