The Chief Executive of the ICC, Geoff Allardice, highlighted the historical significance of the 2024 edition prior to the event starting and the significant prize money that was awarded to teams and players alike. The ICC awarded $2.45 million (INR 20.42 crore) in cash to India, the winner of the main event.
