The Board of Control for Cricket in India, or BCCI, has given INR 15 crore to the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). The BCCI issued the fund with the intention of using it for tournament organisation and payment while monitoring the 2024–25 domestic season.
In an unofficial meeting with BCCI secretary Jay Shah over a month ago, one of the ad hoc members, Dharamveer Singh Shekhawat, asked that he provide cash to “hold camps and tournaments” in the run-up to the forthcoming season.
“We are providing the BCCI with the account numbers of the match officials and players, and they will immediately send the payment to them. The Times of India cited RCA committee coordinator Jaideep Bihani as saying, “This payment is included in the fund sanctioned to us.”
They requested that we begin it right away: Jaideep Bihani
In their most recent meeting, Bihani also disclosed that the committee will hold the RCA elections by the end of August. The officials from Hindustan Zinc Limited, owned by Vedanta, had requested that they get the new RCA Jaipur stadium built as quickly as possible.
“They urged us to start the construction work right away since they are worried about it. They wish to spend this money as their CSR fund is about to expire. However, as of right now, ensuring that RCA elections are held in the first place is our top objective, according to Bihani.
In addition, every state cricket association participated in a three-day state-level curator and groundsmen seminar that concluded at the RCA. Additionally, Jaisalmer and Tonk won the first day of the state-level Under-19 competition at Bikaner.
How the RCA uses the funds that the BCCI gave the board and how the several competitions will be held during the next 2024–2025 season are yet unknown.
